These paintings were inspired by my trips to the Southwest, New Mexico in particular. The vibrantly colored landscape of this beautiful place sparked my imagination. Although started in my studio, these paintings were finished in Santa Fe where I set up a little makeshift studio in my bnb during one of my visits. My imagined abstract landscapes are a response to my experience of nature rather than a re-creation of a specific place. Bold colors and dynamic lines distill the complex spirit of the earth. With an intuitive process, I capture the unconscious to reflect some fragment of nature’s power, the energy and movement as well as the tranquility and harmony..
